I would recommend flying. I got the train from London to Holyhead and then the ferry to Dun Laoghaire. While it was great to see some of the English and Welsh country side it is a long trip and was pretty expensive. I could have got much cheaper flights on Ryan Air.

I enjoyed doing the trip but I would fly every time from now on.
