There are train/ferry offers with Virgin and Stenaline, from £16 one way.

As mentioned, though, there's relatively little to see on this route, until you hit North Wales, at least.

With a little more time, you could engineer yourself a route taking in one (or more) of the very scenic routes through mid-Wales. I wouldn't try that in a day, though.
