Not sure under which visa you're coming into the US but I believe all arrival forms require a US address where you'll be based or can be contacted. I think there is a slim chance you'll be asked for a hotel confirmation, but then again it never hurts to carry an extra piece of paper. That said, I'm pretty sure consulates/embassies ask for hotel confirmation/travel itinerary at the time of visa application.
