I don't trust the police anywhere. As a general rule, the less you get involved with police anywhere in the world the better, even if you haven't done anything wrong.

I think the only times I have ever talked to the police in any country were when the kids at the house next to mine were blasting their stereo (at home in the USA) and in Japan to ask for directions. One of these encounters went well, the other didn't. I'll leave you to guess which country had the friendlier cops.
