Flying in J with an infant - advice please?
I am flying to SFO with BA in CW next week with my wife, my 6 month old son, my wife's brother and my wife's grandfather as a treat for his 75th birthday.
Initially we booked the tickets for me, my wife and her grandfather about 10 months ago. At the time my wife and I were Silver Exec Club members and were able to select 3 seats on the upper deck.
Since then, the amount we have flown has dropped due to my wife's pregnancy and the birth of our son, and we have been relegated back to Blue Exec members!
We have subsequently added my son to the flight. We have also purchased a ticket for my wife's brother to join us, however, since the changes in the seat allocation policy, we are unable to request a seat on the upper deck for him so that we can all sit together. I have tried approaching BA on the point that their new policy allows people travelling with infants to select seats at any point before check in, but they will not help as he is not on the same booking as my son, though both bookings were paid for by me and are linked in the booking system!
Does anyone know of any way that we could try and overcome this?
I am also wondering if anyone has travelled in CW with a 6 month old, and whether they know if BA have specially designated seats for people travelling with infants, and if so, where these are located? Maybe We won't be allowed on the upper deck anyway!?
Thanks for your help.
