1.25 miles per $ only for 1st year
the 1.25 miles per dollar is just for the first year, max is 10,000, but won't continue on after 12 months

It's just a pain to have to switch, and I Amex is still not taken enough places that going from Visa to Amex is a no-go. If I wouldn't switch for MC, I sure am not getting "bumped" to Amex, alhthough may sign up in addition to it just to get the Amex bonus as a new applicant.
