NW Handlers Interpret "Priority" as "Drop in the Mud."
I flew on Dec. 30 from CMH - DTW on Mesaba Airlines operated NW Airlink flight. The plane (ARJ) was lovely... with the spacious first class cabin this may be one of my new favorite domestic aircraft. I connected to a NW flight from DTW-EWR. After fog-related delays on both flights, I finally arrived to Newark very late. When my two bags came to the conveyer belt (not at the beginning, even though they had red Priority tags), one of them looked as though they had dropped it on the ground and rolled it around in the mud. The friendly woman in the baggage services office told me that there's nothing NW could do, as they consider this to be normal wear and tear. I'm surprised that NW would not provide any small reimbursement for the fact that my bag was returned to me disgusting. Do you think a letter to NW is worth it?
