Newbie Travelling with Wireless Thinkpad

Ok, don't shoot me!, but I've got an elementary question, as I just recently recieved my business wireless IBM Thinkpad. I've been using it at home and at my office via a Verizon wireless connection. (I have Verizon wireless at home for my cell phones). I will be travelling this weekend and staying at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay and wanted to use my pc in either my room or common areas of the hotel. In the description of rooms it states: High Speed Internet - Wired (will I have to bring some sort of cord or cable to connect??), T-Mobile Hotspot Wireless Broadband (will my Verizon not work??). It also states both services are available for a per day charge of $9.99. --Do I tell them I want it when checking in? Since I would hope to use the wireless, not sure how I would connect, or let them know I was connecting. (SORRY, but I am really new at this wireless stuff )
