There should not be a difference in the way you are treated in First Class, no matter how you got there. Our paperwork shows your names and your elite status, if any. There are FAs who assume that if you're an elite member, then you're probably an upgrade, but most of us know better. Not being an elite member doesn't mean you haven't been upgraded as well, for whatever reason. Many of us check out the list at the podium, so we have a good idea of who's who. That being said, once you're sitting in First Class the treatment should be the same for everybody. We also know where the elites are sitting in the main cabin, and I do my best to at least go back to acknowledge our Platinum members. I think a simple "how is everything Mr and Mrs "Plat" " goes a long way in showing our appreciation, especially if you're sitting in coach.
