Or "Van Vlaanderen", a great restaurant at Weteringschans 175, downtown. Haven't been there since it received a Michelin Star recently, but prices have only gone up a little reportedly.

Ofcourse, A good Indonesian "Rijstafel", e.g. in "Purimas" at Lange Leidse Dwarsstraat, a little closer than "Van Vlaanderen" is great. Believe it or not, even Indonesians will tell you that it is possibly better food than the original in Indonesia. You have to be with a party of two or more. Your table will be filled with all kinds of different dishes. The cheaper option of the three.
Somehow I missed this forum on FT-- what a great find.

We're heading to Amsterdam next week and actually have rsvns at 2 of the restaurants you mention-- Van Vlaanderen and De Kas.

Our other 2 are Blauw aan de wal and Visaandeschelde.

Any experience with those?
