As I said before, I've been the victim of ID theft and had to recover from same. Am I hypersensitive to my personal info, you BET I am... with good reason too... been there, done that and bought the t-shirt over and over.
No disrespect, but I beg to disagree. Your assumption that this adds security actually reduces the safety of the personal information ostensibly being protected by encouraging complacency.
If AlaskaAir PR was smart, they would leverage this interest in an "insiders" site, while continuing to restrict appropriate information to employees and retirees.
