I just got an amazing fare RT usa-thailand...$800 in december (amazing only because it's peak season, that is). Over the past few days I spent hours sitting at my computer looking for those super-fast-appearing-disappearing fares....I rarely saw a fare below $2000. A few times I caught a fare (which lasted only a few minutes) for $1025. Then today I got one for $800, booked it online immediately, and just being curious, checked for availability after i booked it and it was gone...back up to $2100. So I got a q-class ticket, and i assume i'll get the full mileage credit (i'm gold--so i should get 40,000 miles for usa (east coast) to bangkok. Even got the seats i wanted (the award section of the plane had plenty of seats left).
