You need to compare for the same itinerary. Last example is affected by high US charges, for isntance. for the other two, the details of the charges would probably clarify.

OTOH, I have occasionally found that AC themselves were totally confused with surcharges. Changing a ticket a few times, and the charges seemed to fluctuate randomly, with no one being able to give me an intelligible explanation.
