I'm with xj on this one...I did the same two years ago -the only time I took SFO-PEK. Didn't have much sleep the night before; on purpose. Slept quite a bit on the first flight (IAD-SFO) and then a bit on the second flight. Got into PEK near dark, made it to the hotel, dropped off bags and went out into town (Friday night), drank quite a few litres of Yanjing and made it back to the hotel. Up VERY easily the next morning at 07h00 and not a hint of jet-lag for the rest of the trip. Granted, this was me as a 23-year old, but still, would work pretty well for a 13-year old.
