Is it shorthaul or longhaul?

A return shorthaul flight is effectively two single tickets (priced independently). Last year I didn't use an outbound and the inbound was ok.

Longhaul's different; a non-flexible ticket cancels itself if you don't use one of the sector. I don't know about a flexible one but I wouldn't take the risk myself!
