No ifs, ands or buts - there is no standby on KLM (ok, I know someone will post that they got lucky but dont count on it)

So, I'm the one who will post it: you can get a Waitlist booking on earlier flights if they're full.
It does depend on your fare class and if you have checked-in luggage already of course. But if you qualify on both accounts, sure, no problem.

I've been accepted straight away when flights were not full and waitlisted on other occasions.
