I was flying JFK-NRT-JFK outbound on 4/8, return on 4/18 and then bought a ticket for JFK-LHR-JFK departing on 4/18 AFTER my return from Narita (I would have a three hour layover) and returning the next week. When I called the EXP desk to make a change the return date on the LHR ticket the agent Pam said that these were "back to back" tickets and then she cancelled my LHR trip. I have received a full refund on that but am kind of annoyed because the J --> F VIP is no longer available on the return and there is no discount J inventory left on that flight. So what does this mean, that if I complete a return trip on AA I'm not allowed to take another trip on AA on that day? What about another airline?
