It is the preferred hotel in this forum by far.
But it is a very bland property imo. Despite a renovation, when you walk in a room it could be one of dozens of other older FSs/RCs throughout North America. Suites usually only have 1 bathroom and only a tub that poses as a shower. Not very luxurious. Service is good including the only 1 of the RC/FS/IC that has a house car on weekdays (looks like you'll be there on a weekend)...though I've had better service experiences elsewhere in Boston, most notably the RC Boston Common.
Speaking of which, the RC Boston Common is probably my favorite when everything is taken into consideration...but the new Intercontinental is surprisngly better than both the FS (by a lot) and RC (by a little) when it comes to overall room/suite quality. It's a bona fide lux hotel and is worthy of your consideration.
I have a feeling when the MO opens we will finally have a high-level 5* in Boston. I'm looking fwd to it!
