This part of the article is true:
“On average, one in 10 visitors to the lush Garden Island takes a helicopter tour, Turner said.
"It's only way to see Kauai," he said.”


I once took a ten-mile hike on the Na Pali Coast. While beautiful it is a heck of a lot easier to see it in a helicopter.

This statement is bogus:
"People understand with aircraft, bicycles or skateboards, accidents do happen," he said.”

Another article I read said this about the pilot, who referred to himself as ‘Helicopter Joe’:

“The FAA says he logged more than 10,000 hours in the same type of helicopter that he crash-landed Thursday afternoon. “

I tried to find out if this was a significant amount of experience but couldn’t find the answer. Does anybody know if that is a lot of hours?
