I just booked a hotel in SFO on priceline and was offered a full size car amoung others at $24 / day. Car rental rates were between $50-75 day by the majors. I separately bid $16/day and it was confirmed at Alamo. Total including taxes etc for 2 days was $54.00. Figured I save at least $16 plus taxes by not accepting their offer.
