traveling with a ten year old. Delta said not to worry, the gate agent would
assign us seats.
Got to the airport this morning in plenty of time but problem at the Delta desk.
Two people out sick only two people working and the agent we got informed
us she had not been trained yet and was having a lot of problems getting
the computer to work. Meanwhile the second agent is checking people
in like clockwork. She waits and inbetween people asks the other agent
questions but still she can not get the luggage tags to print. People with
the other agent continue to get boarding passes. I ask about our flight, "its getting late" I say, she tells us not to worry the plane is late anyway. Finally the other agent comes over to her and tells her the flight is overbooked, he tells our agent to try to find us alternate flights. He leaves, she says she doesn't know how to do this, she leaves. She returns 10 min. later, no flights, its Spring Break. They take our bags off the plane, give us $400 in vouchers per person and a toll free customer service number. Delta says no ,all flights from Texas to Florida booked for the whole weekend. Hello- we were bookedtoo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our trip is over before we leave, the cruise line says they will fly us to Jamaica in 4 days to catch the last three days of our 7 day trip, otherwise
too bad.
Do I have any recourse? Don't they owe me something for losing my trip?
Why didn't you have a seat assignment in advance?!
