This thread address most of my questions and confirms what I've read elsewhere. While it's obvious the taxi is the reliable way to go, I'm wondering if Swiss will issue tickets the "night before" (actually very early morning) so that I can claim bags and then go back air-side for the transit hotel? I don't have anything in the bag that's not allowed past security...it's just not carry-on sized. My flights are:

Arriving on UA803 - 23:59, March 15
Departing on LX183 - 21:20, March 16

If they won't issue a BP and I have to stay air-side for the night, what will United do with my unclaimed bags? Ideally, they'd hold it for me and I'll go track it down and recheck with Swiss in the morning. How painful is this claim process, anyone been through it?
