I think the new Club will have US style sockets with 110v. So it will mean, in my case, taking a US figure 8 cable that connects in to the power adaptor for the laptop. Not too big a deal and if going to the US it actually means I don't need the inflight power unit or the mains adaptor for use at the hotel.

As for security, most laptops have the socket to allow you to secure it to the rooms radiotor etc using a Kensington Lock device. It stops opportunistic theft I guess.
