You are seeing the correct behavior. The "automatic upgrade has been requested on your behalf" text indicates that you have been put in the system correctly. The upgrade drop-down is there because you can decide to override this request with a confirmed upgrade. The fact that it also lists e-500s is an anomoly. There's nothing to stop you from putting in the e-500 request, but it is pretty much redundant.
