However, for my upcoming trip, both of us will be traveling together on the same itinerary CGK-SIN-BKK r/t, which normally requires 30k per ticket.
If we split this up into two bookings:
SEN: CGK-SIN-BKK r/t: 30K
Partner: CGK-SIN r/t: 30k
Partner: SIN-BKK r/t: 30k
companion award rebate: -15k
I'm not sure if the above is valid, but even if so, the total cost would be 75k miles, more than the 60k if ticketed without the split reservation. So I think we're better off booking 2 tickets at 30K each. Is this correct?
As long as you´re not traveling with LH from CGK-SIN and then LX from SIN-BKK and v.v. (only then SEN would have to pay 30.000 miles and companion 15.000 miles), you better book 2 seperat tickets with 2 x 30.000 miles.
Otherwise you could try to get a "Fly Smart"- Award for only 15.000 Miles (only the mentioned combination with LH/LX) per person.
