I'd assume that the board software doesn't take into account that even though in some parts of the world it is now DST, in others it isn't. Easiest (and most fool-proof) way is to store the timestamp always in GMT/UTC (which is always non-DST), and then calculate to the local timezone which you want to have displayed. If they had done that, only the US timezones which have now changed to DST could have been incorrect now.
