While it seems like the basis for the 'not talking' point of view is the Gump-like view that "conversations are like a box of chocolates..." but the same arguement holds in reverse for a conversation I once struck up with the woman sitting next to me who turned out to be a Private Investigator whose specialty was missing persons...
At which point I told her that I knew someone who would want to talk to her and gave her card to my former thesis advisor. A year later she helped him find some of his relatives that had come from mainland China seperately from him who he had not seen for 20 years.
