You may have noted earlier in the thread I expressed some concerns about the exploitation of the "bonus points". This was in part a concern about what's right and wrong but also one of self-interest in that it seemed an obvious repercussion of this being that Marriott management might be more likely to pull the whole thing.
What do others think?
This is a common issue with all websites which identify "bargains" or loopholes. If they did not exist (the websites) the knowledge could not be spread, but the spread of the knowledge almost inevitably kills the goose that lays the golden eggs. It is an irreconcilable tension. This has been much discussed on this forum in the context of other earning opportunities.
There was one, a year or two ago, which was such a large loophole in the system that people were prevailed upon to delete the relevant thread entries (but not the thread) and only those known to others on the board were able to get the info via PM. That is probably the closest one is ever going to get to effective self restraint, but it depends on a cohesive "corporate" spirit. At least on the BA board achieving that is a real possibiltiy.
