Why do you think you have the right to instruct others on how to live their lives and what to do with their time and their cellphones? Maybe "live and let live" isn't as popular as it used to be.

As for talking on planes, I'm generally a pretty reclusive personality. I'll smile a "hi" when getting into my seat, and will wish the person a good trip when the plane parks, but other than that, I'd rather be reading, or working, or emailing, or sleeping. As someone else said about themselves, that's how I am in most settings, not only airplanes.

I also strongly dislike what I consider to be personal questions. I find that if I at all reciprocate someone's attempts at conversation, often two sentences into the proto-conversation, it'll be what do you do / where are you from / why are you traveling / etc -- stuff that many people enjoy sharing, but that I, for whatever reasons, don't feel comfortable discussing with strangers.
