Well, I'm still feeling very much a virgin in these things I just took the three A05's and felt edgy about the bonus bits.

I'm trying to make sense of it all. And this is my take - for me!

It seems to me that the BA/AMEX/Tesco bit is about big expensive trips that happens once a year or so and that sensible people with big aspirations and small pockets (like me) wouldn't normally dream of doing. This combined with RA membership of IC seems to provide a degree of opulence for paupers I wouldn't otherwise experience. The joy of first flying properly to an upgraded hotel room or suite where you can do more than simply stare at the mini bar is a joy I'll never forget. And the thrill of booking in the last few days my first lhr>sin>syd>bkk>lhr in first for mrs uk1 and myself - and - can you imagine - having enough points at this stage to repeat it is a stunning accolade to the shared information on FT.

BMI and the stash I got on the cash transfer tsunami is about things I've yet to work once BMI have worked out who they are - but a big bit is Austrian Airlines to VIE in c. What I'm going to do with the other 700,000 miles or so - who knows.

Airmiles is sniffed prematurely at too much by people - but it's great when they have offers like points in papers and the 241's at short notice for European destinations like NCE - or VIE which provided a couple of tickets for us in a couple of weeks.

And the rest seems to be taken care of with cash and bargains.

Has anyone else tried to position these different accounts / schemes in their minds?
