On my last flight on GT (returning from Malta, actually, Kibison), there was just me in 1A, and an elderly couple in 2AC. The rest of CE was empty (ie all the RHS). I remember they tut-tutted when I reclined my seat for the movie. But neither of us moved to the "dreaded" DEF side of the plane.
