Let me add another baddy- the 4 points Monrovia, not far from Pasadena.

Just stayed there at $179/night. Can't believe the lack of value for the price. Carpets are threadbare or nonexistent, in the case of the elevators. Rooms are small, shabby, under-outleted and so on.

I'm sure there is a proper place for older, old-fashioned properties. THey should be available at modest rates. But to put an SPG brand on a property like this is very very sad.

I've stayed at some fantastic 4 points, especially in Europe (Bolazano, Rome). It beats me why the brand does not maintain minimum standards. Why even bother to have the brand?
