Calling all world travelers....two GLONPs...
Let's start out by saying I'm somewhat geographically challenged (my husband is too, but he will deny it).
Anyway, I'm ready to put together another trip which usually means two GLONP's back to back. We've done a week in Ireland (Conrad Hilton) followed by a week in London (Park Lane). We have gone to Rome (Hilton Cavalieri) followed by a week in Sorrento (Sorrento Hilton). Both were kind of neat in that they weren't WORLDS apart but it wasn't like it was the next town over either.
Can you think of two places that I could go back to back, using two GLONs or GLONP (nothing less than level 5 unless it happens to be scored ridiciously low like the Sorrento Hilton use to be), but would not be an act of congress to get from one place to the other? I mean, I don't want to have to spend 2 days to get to the next location and I would prefer not having to fly to the next location either (although I don't want to rule this out if is really is a great trip and totally doable). Come to think of it, I believe we may have flew from London back to Ireland and spent our final evening in the Clondorff (sp?) Castle near the airport so we could fly back to California from Ireland (the airfare was so much better if we started and ended in Dublin).
No Hawaii trips...been there, done that. And we've gone to Cancun and Cabo, which we absolutely love. We are looking at either late October or Feb.
I posted a similar response a few years ago...but it is not worth looking up because so many Hiltons have changed hands or are now Hiltons that were not before, etc.
Also, in reading some posts of late, it looks like Diamonds are not getting the perks internationally anymore....kind of seems you get an "upgraded room" or lounge access. I really am counting on lounge access.
Thank you, thank you, thank you my fellow world travelers (we are not, but we sure do learn from those that are). Half the fun is planning!
Or...for you cruisers out there...is there a pretty neat cruise that you are aware of that puts you in a fabulous Hilton property upon debarkation? We like to spend a few days POST cruise, maybe an AMEX afterwards at a really special Hilton? We've been on nearly a dozen cruises but we are still open for something special.
