Apparently they don't. One crazy PAX claiming to have a bomb was killed by two FAMs. If that was an actual terrorist plot, the FAMs would have been dead.
Plane was on the ground, which meant the FAMs had no mission yet. They were acting as fed LEOs at that point.
Its kind of hard to fly a plane into a building when its safely at the gate. At that point the mission was to prevent the loss of life in the terminal.
