I will support all English teams still left in europe bar Chelski, and would even bring myself to cheer on Valencia, Roma, Milan, PSV, et al over them.
How "vexasious". Just for your information (and educational betterment) STamford Bridge in its heyday had a capacity of over 100,000 and used to fill out. There have always been plenty of chelsea fans, there are just more of them now. The same way so many under 14's support MAn Utd, cos thats the team that made the news when they were growing up.
As for how chelsea got where it is, under Ken BAtes, they brought in somewhat ageing big names typically on free transfers, to start the regeneration of the club and the rebuilding of its profile and results and on pitch performance. Very little money was spent other than on building hotels, stadia etc
When Abramovich bought Chelsea he paid (relatively) little, about £110m for the club and its FREEHOLD properties. Compare to what others paid for Man Utd, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and you see what a bargain he got.
All big football clubs spend money, thats why they are big. I get a little irritated when people focus just on Chelsea, but between 1990 and 2000 it was MAn Utd and Leeds who were the big spenders, MAn Utdyear in year out, and they won the premiership year in year out.
At least now there is a bit more of a real competition
As for you not supporting Chelsea in europe, thats a shame, all the young english players Terry, Cole A , Cole J, Bridge, Wright Phillips, LAmpard....being snubbed in such a way. Still I am sure the spanish Liverpool/French Gunners appreciate your support.
WHat a load of bo**ocks, you are clearly emotionally deranged
