A couple of questions as I'll be heading here tomorrow.

Are there reasonably priced places in the area to pick up little things like beverages etc?

It's my understanding that a lot of transactions in the touristy areas can be made using USD. Does the front desk cash USD AMEX travelers cheques for USD's? Or should I bring it all in cash?
