I just completed a roundtrip JFK/DXB in Business. The food was very good, and the entertainment system the best I have ever experienced in flight. Non Americans should understand that our diet, outside fancy restaurants in large cities, tends to be basic, and is based on quality ingredients, with little in the way of exotic meats, fish, and sauces. A guy used to digging into a steak weighing half a kilo, tender enough to cut with an ordinary butter knife, can sometimes be befuddled by a plate of sea urchins and exotic animal innards, even though that is considered gourmet fare in most of the world. I'm not being a wise guy, rather, just pointing out that comments like you see have more to do with cultural experience, not ingratitude, or an air of superiority. Emirates is one fine airline.
