"Are those disposable slippers?"
I use paper slippers when I remove my shoes for the TSA. Monday morning at BWI a TSA screener asked me if the slippers were disposable. I replied that they were.
She then said, "You will have to dispose of them after you walk through," and then she yelled over to someone at the end of the line to make sure that I disposed of them. I couldn't even begin to figure out the rationale for that.
After I completed security and put myself back together, no one told me to throw away my paper slippers, so I just put them back in my carryon.
I'm absolutely baffled by this.
