It seems logical to me to place advertising in the stronghold on your competitor. Placing BA advertising at a terminal that will exclusively serve BA travelers seems redundant; they will already have booked with BA probably anyway whereas placing it where no or very few BA travelers will travel to in future seems like a very good idea (coming from someone without any advertising/marketing experience).
Similarly as someone who knows nothing about marketing, that's exactly what VS were doing for a while in T4 - does anyone else remember the red/blue 'you get BA' adverts for their Upper Class?
Being rather cynical, I'm sure there's space for a couple of shops on that roundabout, anyway.
