What frankly astounds me is the number of people in this thread who say "well, it's your fault, you should have known" or something to that effect. How about a little sympathy? The service was not up to scratch in many places, and that's not acceptable, end of story.
andrzej you have my sympathy for what sounds like a crap time. I hope you choose to fly BA again, and I hope that your next experience is better than this one.
I will definitely fly BA again. It is a good airline overall, but the treatment of their OW partner elites by Terraces dragons is atrocious (in most cases, not all).
As I'm writing a complaint letter about the dragons I will put a good word in for the FlightConnections agent. He was outstanding, very helpful and actually walked me over to BMI desk personally to finalize the deal. Great job!
The lost luggage was just the final straw. I really wasn't blaming BA or LOT. I was just tired, cranky and then I had to deal with filing a report. I (kind of) expected that my luggage was not going to arrive on the same plane. If it did I would have been a very happy guy. At the end that part of the story ended well.
