Finally, I've received my 'purchase complete' email - only 9 days after the transaction.

Two CSRs have assured me that points purchased pre-8th March can be used post-8th March. Indeed, according to the CSRs the 10% limitation is only on points purchased during redemption of an award over the phone - sounds like nonsense, but that was what I was told.
