I'm checking out today and would have to rate the place as "OK but":

The Good:
- clean
- well maintained
- close to the SD Trolley system
- close to airport/zoo/shopping
- good workout room
- the regular room seems to be 'oversize' and is fairly comfortable

The Bad:
- very limited lounge selection (not even DT cookies)
- conceirge is really the bellman - good luck trying to get help with reservations, etc. as you compete with people needing cabs, luggage, etc.
- internet is still fee-based
- parking charges (no waiver for Diamonds)
- no upgrades
