I received the following email from Marriott which was a follow up to them telling me they had frozen my card until I contacted them as part of their fraud restrictions.
It does say after the 8th the new policy comes into force.
"I will request that your credit card be unfrozen, which is generally
done within 24 hours.
I would like to inform you that after 3/8/07, there will be a limit
enforced of points purchased, and will only allow 50,000 points to be
purchased yearly.
