A guy called me at home a couple of years ago and asked if I had a home alarm system. I burst out laughing and said "You've got to be kidding, do people really answer that question? There's no way on earth I'm going to tell a perfect stranger on the phone that I don't have an alarm system on my house."

My wife was in hysterics on the sofa. I think the guy really was an alarm salesman, who knows, but I'd love to know how many people tell him they don't have an alarm system.
