I used to think that NWA might have kept
some of the DCA slots for future use....or
may have considered reintering that market
with the proported "demise" of USA in 2000.
I am quite well aquainted with the BOS-AMS svc. I tend to avoid it though...some of
the BOS crews can be pretty cruddy..although sometimes they are great. Instead, I interline via DTW for most trans-atlantics. Yes, there is a miles issue, but
I like the new lounges at DTW and the later departures to Europe, helps me on the jet lag. ( I have also , for the miles, yes, flown BOS-DTW-IAD-AMS and BOS-DTW-ORD-AMS. )Another benifit for me flying via DTW is that I still have family in Ann Arbor. So, if I get stuck, I have a decent place to stay.
