The easiest solution would simply be for your friend to walk into any bank and ask them to tt the money into their bank account in the US. You'll cop a bit of a fee but it will be fairly nominal given the amount being sent and the rates are usually excellant. I think in these days credit cards, internet banking etc people have forgotten how we used to send money about the world.
