I find that over the years food quality in LH longhaul C (not so much in F - there's more [but not absolute] consistency in terms of good quality there) represents a sinus curve. We were at the bottom at the beginning of the millennium, then it actually got edible again, and now we seem to be back at the bottom.

One thing that helps (in C and F) is to focus on the starters - but of course, you can't always have two or three, particularly in C. Another thing is to stay away from meat - LH, for some strange reason, just can't get it right on their airplanes (I've had the most delicious medium rare steak on a Delta flight in C, so it IS possible to get it right). There's only so much you can do to screw up fish and pasta dishes ...

By the way, BA is rightfully acquiring a reputation for (occasionally) truly dreadful food in F (check the BA board) - not that that's an excuse for LH.

While I'm at it - I've had LH's chocolate soufflée twice in the FCT (definitely worth asking for), but they overcooked it on both occasions. Has anyone ever had any luck in terms of getting it still soft/liquid inside, or do we need to give specific cooking instructions to the waiter?
