Hear hear! I agree with others that the Plat. benefits are sometimes hard to quantify, but it's there in the small things--i.e. standing by for an earlier flight and hearing the announcement that first has checked in full. In moments then, hearing my name over the PA to come to the desk and being given my first class seat. IMHO, $800 is worth it.
