Hi all,
I'm new to the forum (just found it online while googleing

) and have read a LOT of good information on this site. I'm currently flying US Airways and am a Platinum Preferred member. Due to my carreer (I'm a Consultant), I travel every week (leaving Sunday night, returning home Thursday night). Since I'm not based in a hub, I usually have to stop for a connecting flight to wherever it is that I'm traveling to during a specific time. Right now, I'm stopping in Charlotte.
I'm considering flying American Airlines at times, basically because sometimes the AA schedule works better for me. I was wondering if anyone here could give me any insight as to if it would be a good idea or a bad one to fly both US Airways and American, switching between the two every week or so. Although I have to admit that I'm a bit spoiled with being able to be upgraded to First Class most of the time on US Airways. Should I call AA and see if they can either match my status or put me on a Challenge, so that I can get free upgrades on AA as well? It would be good for them, since they would have my business with at least 4 flights a month (if I switch between the two airlines every week). But at the same time, I don't want to lose my Platinum status with US Airways (especially since I'll be Chairman Status within 4 or 5 weeks).
Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!
Thank you in advance,
Mike
