Really won't help much because when I've flown non-rev (or staff standby as you call it) flights can show oversold days out and I get on (like the day before Thanksgiving) while the reverse has happened where a flight shows wide open for days out and come departure time, I don't get on. AA employees can see availability for AA flights but not on other airlines.
